About

I started reading Chinese science fiction in 2003 after taking a course from Wu Yan at Beijing Normal University, and I’ve posted reviews and translations in fits and starts since 2004:

2004: ZHWJ, a blog devoted to Chinese SF, opens on LiveJournal.

2005: With LiveJournal blocked and my translation energy going into Danwei.org, ZHWJ stops updating.

2007.07: Twelve Hours Later launched. Posts trickle out through mid-2008 before the blog goes dormant.

2009.12.01: Twelve Hours Later relaunched to coincide with the Words Without Borders publication of an excerpt of Ball Lightning by Liu Cixin.
